Your Birth, Your Way

Full Spectrum Doula Services

As your pregnancy progresses and your impending birth draws near, you may be wondering if you have the support needed along this journey. My mission - my passion - is to provide support for families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. I’ve curated my packages to reflect the continuity of support and care that I believe is essential to growing families.

My doula support is a little different than other “birth doula packages” because my aim is to really spend time supporting and empowering my clients before and after giving birth, not just the birth itself. I offer two prenatal appointments and two postpartum appointments to allow me the time to offer this support and fill in the gaps that many families find are left by other birth providers. They want someone to walk alongside them as they make their baby registries, work on their nurseries, pack their hospital bags, and prepare for labor.

I serve the San Antonio and New Braunfels area. My luxury packages offer a variety of five components: birth support, postpartum support, birth photography, childbirth education, and placenta encapsulation services.

Component 1:

  • What do you pack in your hospital bag? Are you prepared to advocate for yourself and make informed choices? How can your partner support you best during labor? What are the best ways to cope through the intensity of contractions?

As a birth doula, I provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational support during labor. All of my doula packages include two prenatal appointments to establish a relationship and discuss your birth preferences. Each of these appointments are 1-1.5 hours, and my goal is to learn how I can best support and assist you during your birth. Yes, we work to create a birth plan, but this time is also to learn more about the hopes and fears you and your partner have about birth, to practice comfort measures, and to strategize ways to prepare for birth and the postpartum period. My mission is to help you achieve the most safe, memorable, and empowering birth experience possible!

Component 2:

  • The goal is helping to facilitate family bonding, aiding in your physical recovery, and providing support so you can feel confident caring for your new baby! As a doula, I quickly found that only offering one postpartum appointment did not seem a sufficient way to leave my clients. Two postpartum sessions, typically lasting about an hour each, allows for plenty of time to unpack the birth experience, talk through newborn care questions, make a nutritious meal for the new family, and really get into any burning questions and concerns. I also offer educational Bengkung Belly Binding sessions, which include your own belly bind and warming paste.

Additional postpartum shifts can be added to your package for additional support. Each family and each shift are unique, but an example of a postpartum shift could look like: arrive and make breakfast for you, look after baby while you shower, bring you a snack and fresh water as your nurse, offer tips on burping baby, put fresh sheets on your bed, sit together and chat as you process your birth and this transition to motherhood, wash pump parts and fold laundry, meal prep dinner and breakfast, offer tips for using your new baby carrier!

Component 3:

  • With a Masters in Education, I’ve always had a passion for teaching. The goal is informed decision making. The goal is to feel in the drivers seat as you make decisions for your birth, your baby, and your body.

My in-home childbirth education class is designed to arm you with the information needed to make informed decisions and to take on birth with confidence and knowledge. A childbirth class is an essential part of birth preparation. My class is for you if:

•You want to learn practical ways to plan and manage your birth and postpartum period

•You want to dispel your fear of childbirth while building body and birth confidence

•You want to feel in control and in charge of your labor and birth at every stage.

Component 4:

  • Placenta encapsulation is a great addition to a postpartum care plan. Postpartum healing, breastfeeding, low energy levels, and hormonal imbalances are some of the things expectant parents worry about, and it’s one of the reasons why more and more families are choosing to encapsulate their placenta.

Pills, tincture, salves, keepsakes, broth, and placenta prints are just some of the ways to benefit from and honor the organ that sustained your baby! This sacred lifeline sustained your baby for your entire pregnancy, so it would be only fitting that it sustain and replenish you during postpartum. Placenta encapsulation is the process of preparing your placenta after the birth of your baby by steaming, dehydrating, powdering, and placing it into capsules for you to use as you see fit. There are many minerals, trace elements, vitamins, and hormones that exist in the placenta in orally-active forms, such as calcium, magnesium, iron, selenium, oxytocin, progesterone, prostaglandins, estrogen, prolactin, endorphins, serotonin, and more!
