Services & Support for Perinatal Loss

What is a bereavement doula and what do they do?

As a perinatal bereavement doula, I provide birth support for families who are having to say hello - and goodbye - to their babies. This would be for families experiencing a stillbirth, premature birth before viability, or giving birth to a baby with a fatal condition not compatible with life. The services provided are similar to birth support packages because it is still birth. This support is non-clinical and is in addition to the medical support from your provider. Support may look like creating a birth plan, providing physical and emotional support during labor, educating on options for your birth and immediate postpartum, making keepsakes, taking photos, and support during the postpartum period.

What is the cost of bereavement services?

My bereavement services are always free of charge and offered on a donation basis. If you would like to donate to a grieving family, you can do so here.

If families would like, they are welcome to make a donation or payment in memory of their child, that would go towards the next bereaved family seeking doula support.

I would like bereavement support, what is the next step?

Please contact me here, and I will get back to you as soon as possible via the phone number you give me. If there is time, we can schedule a prenatal meeting to talk about your birth and postpartum wishes. If you’re already at the hospital and/or in labor, I will do my best to meet you as soon as possible. I’m typically always on-call and ready to go support when needed.
